Our All Baltics tour is unique presenting 3 different countries, 3 different languages and 3 different cultures in one travel. Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia are united by similar geographical position and common history, but they also have huge differences between each other.
But that’s not enough! If we look closer, the fourth country will appear: Germany!
Yes, historically the western part of Lithuania was a part of German world for centuries, since the Teutonic order, and later belonged to Germany – until the end of the WW2!
This part of Eastern Prussia was inhabited by German population in the towns, and by Lithuanians in the rural areas. The Lithuanian population were protestans, differently from Lithuania itself, where the majority are catholics. They spoke a dialect which used a lot of German words.
Eastern Prussia’s Germans and many local Lithuanians fled to Germany during the WW2, and the rest were expelled by Soviets.
But the traces of this centuries-long culture are still present.
One tour, three Baltic countries… and one more hidden. Let’s discover it!
